Private Jones

Private Jones at Southwark Playhouse Elephant

Why see Private Jones?

A Deaf Soldier's Story

Weapons down, tissues at the ready - Private Jones is the new First World War musical that is coming to London for 7 weeks only! Told through the eyes of deaf Welsh soldier and sniper Gomer Jones (using a mixed hearing and Deaf company), Private Jones is the ultimate inclusive sensory experience, integrating sign language, live captioning and a Foley landscape. Don't miss this heartfelt musical as it makes a thrilling debut at London's Southwark Playhouse Elephant!

What's The Story?

Gomer Jones longs to find his place in the world, but after losing his hearing, he feels increasingly disconnected from the life he wants to be part of. When he finds himself among a group of unlikely young outsiders, he unexpectedly rises to become their hero. Along the way, however, he learns that what he thought he wanted most may not be what truly matters.
