Eat, Pray, Laugh! Barry Humphries' Farewell Tour

Why see Eat, Pray, Laugh! Barry Humphries' Farewell Tour?

Barry Humphries has already bid farewell to audiences in Australia and New Zealand, receiving rapturous standing ovations and reviews, with further performances added across the tour, such was the demand.

Eat, Pray, Laugh! Will give audiences a final chance to see Humphries – one of the world’s sharpest wits and finest comic talents, and a gigastar of stage and TV over the last 50 years – as well as allow the maestro to thank his many fans.

Act One of Eat, Pray, Laugh! Features gentle, grandfatherly Sandy Stone, perhaps Humphries’ greatest creation, and the outrageous Les Patterson – according to Dame Edna “this is just a bit of foreplay really before I make an orgasmic appearance in Act Two!”

Surrounded by spectacular sets and gorgeous and talented dancers, Dame Edna promises to ‘empower’ her audiences with what she describes as ‘a meditation on loss, gender, climate change, gay marriage and ethnicity’.

We were disappointed with the first half as it dragged on with Barry H 's puerile breaking wind 'jokes' and a bizarre tale of mortality . The stage was too big for him and 4 cast members although the set and lighting were effective. The second half was The Dame and the front 2 rows of the audience and was worth the ticket money. This is what Humphries should have stuck with and was very funny. The Palladium is a magnificent Theatre and if you are over 18 I recommend this show ... Read more
