John Godber OBE's latest uproarious comedy heads to London's Trafalgar Studios
Following stints at Theatre Royal Wakefield and East Riding Theatre in Beverly, John Godber OBE's latest uproarious comedy enjoys a strictly limited month-long run at London's Trafalgar Studios this Summer. Billed as a companion to the critically acclaimed and politically slanted two-hander Scary Bikers, Angles of the North follows a failing Yorkshire taxi firm as they fend off the advent of Uber in the run-up to the December 2019 snap election.
Cabbies Dennis and Mick have just about seen it all - they're old hands at the airport run, have delivered babies and transported pets to the vet. But change is afoot. Whilst witnessing the crumbling Red Walls of their native northern territory, the owner of their taxi firm dies and young gun Roxi takes over. Can a firm consistently voted the worst in Yorkshire ever come out on top? Roxi has some ideas, but they may prove too radical for the likes of Dennis and Mick...
