You may have seen him as Lady Bracknell in the current production of The Importance Of Being Earnest; you would have most certainly seen him as moustache-twirling sleuth Hercule Poirot on television. In fact, this man's work has been so prolific, he is now regarded as one of our national treasures. Now for one night only at the Lyric Theatre in October, get a chance to see him up close and personal as he is interviewed live on stage by National Youth Theatre director Paul Roseby as part of a fundraising event for the company. Suchet's celebrated career on stage and screen is in part thanks to his joining the National Youth Theatre at 18, a company with whom he has maintained close links with. Learn about how he took over the role from Sir Peter Ustinov in 1988 as one of Britain's best loved TV detectives, Hercule Poirot and how he continued in that iconic role for 24 years, earning hmself a BAFTA nomination in 1991 for his effort.
