Transferring to the playhouse

Following two hugely successful engagements at the Menier Chocolate Factory and a run at the Vaudeville Theatre last autumn comedian David Baddiel brings his hot show, My Family: Not the Sitcom back to the West End for a stint at the Playhouse Theatre from March 28th. My Family follows his hit 2014 show Fame: Not The Musical. Famed for his appearances on television with fellow comic Frank Skinner on Fantasy Football League and Baddiel and Skinner, the Jewish Londoner is well-known for his autobiographical shows that examine his relationship with celebrity, and now provides a bittersweet insight into his chaotic family life.

WHAT TO EXPECT

My Family is set to provide a bittersweet yet no-holds barred celebration of his Jewish parents; his late mother Sarah, and dementia-ridden father Colin. Breaking with the Jewish tradition of "honoring thy parents", Baddiel will talk candidly about these influences, as well as the various painful anecdotes of growing up. Memory, aging and infidelity are all tackled with his deadpan wit, as well as commenting on today's political climate and popular culture.

In addition to his television comedy and documentary projects on BBC, Baddiel is also a noted novelist and screenwriter, having written two children's novels The Parent Agency and the Person Controller to critical acclaim.
