2.0 star rating Alan Houmann from London,

UNWATCHABLE

Positives first: wonderful (almost lavish) set that promises very high production values, with A-list actors, to pull in the punters. However, a woeful script, and under-rehearsed acting, make it unwatchable. Getting laughs from anachronistic swearing is feeble - the lowest possible brow in entertainment and better suited for second rate stand-up.

1.0 star rating from London,

BEYOND TERRIBLE

We had tickets for the press might. They cancelled it and rebooked is. Now we know why. They didn't want the press reviews. The story is weak. The script uses swearing instead of wit. The acting flat in many parts, especially the pigmy in the attic. When the funniest jokes is the confusion of Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens, repeated endlessly, you know you are in for a night of horror. And not the Grimm kind. The why did we spend £150 on this kind. Oh yes. Don't forget to moan loudly at the letter from the king of the Spaniards where he fails to understand the emperor's New clothes on the grounds that he would never walk about with his cock and balls out. 5 times. Execrable.

What we thought

UNINSPIRED disappointing Dark

A draft brought to life far too soon

Having heard the very mixed reviews for Martin McDonagh's A Very Very Very Dark Matter, I went in with an open mind. Unfortunately it wasn't too long into the play that I realised my opinion would be siding with the other unimpressed critics.
