Wonderfully well-crafted, often very funny, with a superb performance by Denise Gough.

Back For An Encore Performance

Duncan Macmillan's People, Places and Things returns to the West End for a limited run at the Trafalgar Theatre, offering you a chance to see Denise Gough's award-winning performance once more.

An absorbing drama centerd around actress Emma and her attempt to escape dysfunction and addiction in rehab this co-production from The National Theatre and Headlong originally enjoyed a premiere at The National Theatre in 2014, before transferring to the West End and Broadway. A critic and audience favourite, don't miss this searing theatrical masterpiece.

What is the story?

Emma is having trouble making it past the first step. Rather than admit she dampens out the problems of the modern world with drink and drugs, she'd rather blame it on everyone else. Unrepentant and raging, she rallies against every attempt at help, until she realises it's up to her to rescue herself. Denise Gough is outstanding as this unpalatable anti-heroine, bowled over by the reach of her own excess and self-deniable.

What we thought

brilliant UNFORGETTABLE Game-changing

Gough has more than just made the role her own, she's made West End history in her perfect portrayal of an imperfect person.

A brutal exploration of addition and its place in modern life, People, Places & Things is well-deserving of the praise this daring production it has received and its star, Denise Gough, more than deserving of her recent Olivier win.
