IT DOESNN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS
Wow love, love loved Hair. The cast are amazing and must be exhausted after each performance. Each and everyone of them has an amazing voice. Unfortunately it's closing in 2 weeks so get to see it if you can. It was worth every penny. Thanks to the American cast for coming over and sharing their performance with us, it was a great experience.

FRIDAY 16TH, LONDON
I saw the show years ago, and have listened to the soundtrack ever since. Seeing the stage production again was a must, but I came away feeling disappointed. The overlapping themes of the peace movement, the escapism of drugs and the inevitable protest against the unavoidable call to arms came over as a confusion of ideas rather than a development of a theme. I felt no sympathy for these self-indulgent school kids too high to make valid judgement or articulate their arguments. This is in stark contrast to the sense I get from the soundtrack and, indeed, from the film. For me, the production didn't work, and not just because it was overplayed for comedy. Having said that, the production was delivered with gusto and good intent. Although all players spoke, sang and moved all that they had to, special mention has to go to one of the tribe, played I think by John Moauro. While the others acted their parts, John was living it. He put everything into it. Well done, John. Feel it,be it.

HAIR - A DISAPPOINTMENT
I was disappointed with this performance when compared to the replacement Broadway cast which I saw earlier this year in New York. The London cast seemed tired and distracted. The seating and view of the stage was great although the sound was less good with transmission of diction less than clear at times. Shame as I had good memories of the original London production over 30 years ago and more recently on Broadway where the cast were vibrant, exciting and engaging - especially Diana DiGarmo
