WHAT A SHOW!

I saw the show in New York last year and want to see it again in London. This is something you've got to experience! I had my 15 year old daughter with me who keeps listening to Hair CD over and over again. So it's not just me who lived in the seventies and loved the music, but also the younger generation. The cast was awesome, so professional and what I especially loved was the interaction with the audience. Never experienced anything like that before. So everybody: go and see it!!

LET THE SUN SHINE IN!

Last summer 2009 at the end of my four week summer vacation I went to see 'Hair' on Broadway - it just uplifted me so much bringing back memories of melodies and refrains from the late sixties and early seventies. This musical has a powerful social message that is as important today as it was when it first played. It also documents the true meaning behind the movement of people who wanted to promote 'love-peace- freedom' and how they changed the politics of living and seeing life in an alternative perspective. The audience participation will take you by surprise, and the passion of all the cast members almost appears as if you are reliving the actual period that the musical is set in. I was surprised when certain songs played, as I did not know they originated from this musical. What is uncanny is that after seeing "Hair' in New York, I wished that the entire cast could come over to London so that my friends could witness the emotions I felt last summer - well my dream has come true!

JUST SIMPLY AMAZING!

I saw this show back in February in NYC and it was fantastic. I took my two children ages 14 and 10 and they also loved it.We had great seats and could see everything perfectly. This show will definately put you in a great mood and you'll have the songs stuck in your head! This is a must see musical!

HAIR

I saw Hair in New York in March 2009. Out of the 20 odd shows I have seen over the years, it was probably the best. The cast was superb. I still rate it most fantastic musical ever. Long may it reign. GO and experience something different. It changed my life

SENSATIONAL

I have just seen the first night of Hair in London. It was vibrant, uplifting, empowering, everything you would want from a musical. The cast and band were superb. It was a brilliant evening. I sat next to someone who had missed it the very first time around and he was mesmerised and said he would go again. I also, will be going again - and again whilst the US cast are here, and probably again, and again when he UK cast takes over. This show gets under your skin and deep into your soul. Try it you won't be disappointed.

THE SUN SHONE

The Show won me over in the first minute. The cast have a energy that filled the theatre with atomosphere and passion right from curtain up. The production has wit and charm. The audience ranged from groups of teenagers to grandparents. Last time Hair was in the West End it nearly brought the theatre down, on last night's performance it will keep the West End vibrant for many many nights. It is almost impossible not to laugh cry and dance. The shows themes are alarmingly contemporary , yet it uplifts and inspires. The best show I have seen since... Hair

ABUNDANT ENERGY

I saw this show before in 1968 in London and it was amazing to see it again. They had not changed or spoilt it - it had just the same energy and impact the second time around. Of course the message was now historical rather than present, but the abundant youth and enthusiasm was wonderful to behold. The audience was beaten into submission and the standing ovation showed that the impact was still there. And the average age of the audience was much lower than in my other recent visits to the theatre - this was a real surprise to me, and an indication that this is a new play to most people. Amazing!

THE BEST NIGHT OUT IN LONDON!

I've seen it and enjoyed every single moment! Absolutely spectacular! Not for kids.

HAIR

Absolutely amazing. Being massive fans of the film we couldn't wait to see the original stage version. It was beautifully brought to life and we loved the personal touch and interaction with the crowd. Totally shattered with sore hands from clapping and hoarse voices from singing at the end along with the cast. But we're still loving every minute of it. What a brilliantly acted, expertly sung, thought provoking play. Definitely worth seeing---again!

WOW!! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE..

This is a got-to-see musical. I took my daughter/son-in-law and son/daughter-in-law to the Gielgud performance on Fri 9th April. It was fantastic. The performers had so much energy and vitality. They got the audience to interact throughout so much so that the stage was besieged by wannabe Hair participants from the audience at the finale. If you can afford it get a seat in the dress circle - good view and lots of interaction with the performers.

AMAZING

I first saw this show in December 1968 and thought it magic then. Saw it again 17 April 2010 and it is still magic and unfortunately as relevant now as then. When will we learn that war is waste of young lives. A brilliant show.

DAVE K: THE SUN SHINES IN THE AGE OF AQUARIUS!

Wow! The show was electric, from the first note of Aquarius to the last note of Let the Sunshine in. A remarkable experience. Where else can you join the actors on stage, 'high five' the male leads and hug the female leads? Awesome.

AMAZING

Last night at The Gielgud I found my inner hippy - what a fantastic show . The juxtaposition of the freedom and happiness in the first act and the reality of war in the second was truly genius. The songs , the voices , the costumes and the dance ...dont miss it !

GROOVY

Absolutely loved the show and the CD is well worth it, not stopped singing since we got it home. I've been telling everyone to go and see it. Great to see a musical create such a buzz.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

I saw this show the first time round with my parents and loved it then but to come back with my own children was surreal. We all had a fantastic evening and we will definitely be back to see it again.

AMAZING!!

Saw the original in 1969 so really excited to see it again and it lived up to all my expectations and more. Brilliant, energetic, uplifting. The energy of the cast is awe-inspiring. Saw it on 19 April and have booked to see it again on 25 May. Allison Case was outstanding as Chrissie

BEST MUSICAL - A MUST SEE

I took my Mum to see this as she saw it the first time round. She enjoyed it this time even more. The cast were fantastic and the audience interaction make it so much fun. It may be 40 years old but the events surrounding this story are current to the events happening today. As someone who has a great love of musicals this is by far the best I have seen. Don't delay see it for yourself.

LET THE SUNSHINE

I saw Hair on the press performance and I was so glad I did because it is the best musical to have come to London over the past decade. The cast is quite literally phenomenal, people aren't lying when they say that the cast is incredible. The end is also so cool when every one gets on stage, and you get to talk to the cast (a word of wisdom, Allison Case, the person who plays Crissy is so nice, TALK TO HER!!!!) SEE HAIR.

SUPERB SHOW, BUT WE DON'T NEED A PREFECT!

We saw the 3pm performance today, 12 June 2010 - absolutely stunning. But, sitting in the dress circle, we found the young member of staff wearing glasses on the right hand side a complete pain in the neck. It was like having a school prefect keeping watch throughout the show. Was he trying to spot a camera being used perhaps - or someone using a "tape recorder" I really don't think people use tape recorders anymore.

I AM BOOKING AGAIN

I am just about to book my fourth visit to see Hair. This time I am taking my five year old grand daugher who already knows the words to several of the songs. I can't emphasise enough that you MUST see this show before it ends in September. It is fantastic and everything I said in my previous review still stands - with flowers on. The cast are tremendous. It is the very best musical ever.

LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED

This was so beautiful, thank you all! We went to see this musical with our two daughters while visiting London and really liked the show. That was a few days ago and I still have the white flowers the actors gave us in my vase here in Finland! Everyone was so devoted and full of love that will change the world.

WHO NEEDS DRUGS?...

... if you want to get high on emotion, go and see Hair! My wife and I saw it and haven't stopped talking about it. Its a bit of a shock when you have an actor standing over you (literally) but thats what you get in the stalls - so be prepared for a totally different experience, thats what it is, an experience. Its weird and whacky and I can't believe it was over 2 hours. We got up on the stage at the end and became born again hippies (We've actually been in a west end show!!!). The cast were like long lost friends to us. They were all brilliant and really made us feel part of the whole experience. We're definately going again! A fabulous night out.

IT DOESNN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS

Wow love, love loved Hair. The cast are amazing and must be exhausted after each performance. Each and everyone of them has an amazing voice. Unfortunately it's closing in 2 weeks so get to see it if you can. It was worth every penny. Thanks to the American cast for coming over and sharing their performance with us, it was a great experience.

FRIDAY 16TH, LONDON

I saw the show years ago, and have listened to the soundtrack ever since. Seeing the stage production again was a must, but I came away feeling disappointed. The overlapping themes of the peace movement, the escapism of drugs and the inevitable protest against the unavoidable call to arms came over as a confusion of ideas rather than a development of a theme. I felt no sympathy for these self-indulgent school kids too high to make valid judgement or articulate their arguments. This is in stark contrast to the sense I get from the soundtrack and, indeed, from the film. For me, the production didn't work, and not just because it was overplayed for comedy. Having said that, the production was delivered with gusto and good intent. Although all players spoke, sang and moved all that they had to, special mention has to go to one of the tribe, played I think by John Moauro. While the others acted their parts, John was living it. He put everything into it. Well done, John. Feel it,be it.

HAIR - A DISAPPOINTMENT

I was disappointed with this performance when compared to the replacement Broadway cast which I saw earlier this year in New York. The London cast seemed tired and distracted. The seating and view of the stage was great although the sound was less good with transmission of diction less than clear at times. Shame as I had good memories of the original London production over 30 years ago and more recently on Broadway where the cast were vibrant, exciting and engaging - especially Diana DiGarmo
