CORONAVIRUS: Latest updates here.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's genius returns to the West End with his very own version of the classic Cinderella story! Set to arrive at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in summer 2021, this brand new musical is set to turn the original tale on its head with a book by Emmy nominee Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve), lyrics by David Zippel (The Woman in White) and an original score by Lloyd Webber (of course). The leading lady of the moment, Carrie Hope Fletcher, will star as the titular Cinders.
Lloyd Webber announced the new production with "I have long wanted to write my own version of Cinderella but could never find a take on the classic story that really grabbed me. Emerald Fennell has written something truly exciting and original, and the moment I read her outline I knew I'd found my latest collaborator..."
With direction from Laurence Connor (Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) and Choreography from School of Rock's JoAnn Hunter Cinderella is set to be one of the biggest new productions of the year!
Will the main storyline be kept? Or, we will follow the story of Cinderella under a new guise? Only time will tell! But, one thing is for sure Cinderella is set to be the most talked-about musical of 2021!
