After enjoying success across the pond, Sarah Burgess' 'frighteningly funny' exploration of scandal and power in the world of high finance makes land at the Hampstead Theatre for its UK premiere in January 2018. Agent Carter star and Olivier nominee (A View From the Bridge) Hayley Atwell leads the cast as Jenny, a cutthroat junior partner who'll do whatever it takes to make bank.
Joining Atwell are Tom Riley and Aiden McArdle, under Hampstead regular Anna Ledwich's direction.
The elephant in the room
Dry Powder ignites when senior partner Rick throws himself a decadent engagement party, complete with a live elephant. For a company that has just forced a series of layoffs to a nationwide supermarket chain, this extensive display of riches becomes a PR nightmare. Junior partners Seth and Jenny go head to head with their differing approaches to solving the problem in this virtuosic comedy of greed, manipulation and the art of the deal.
