DISRESPECT OF THE RASTAFARIAN FAITH

Song renditions and cast talents aside, the Bob Marley Musical was an unacceptable mockery of the Rastafarian Faith. It created a frivolous, unhumble image of a drug-head, sex-addict black Rasta man and perpetuated harmful stereotypes through its "humour" - we laughed At them, not With them, there's a difference. It is clear that its white-British Writer and Nigerian-British Director, made no attempt to research a faith and way of life not of their own, and while watching this play I wondered how I was the only one who saw this uncomfortable reality and disrespect; the entire experience can be summarised with the dreadlock wig that appears to be slapped onto Bob Marley's non-rasta, 'baldheaded'(quote: Bob Marley) actor. 'Get Up Stand Up!' claims to be a piece contributing towards cultural representation, but the only representing it did was that of ignorance. - Sky, 22

A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE

The experience was so bad we left before the end. From our seats we could not se anything on the stage, there was no story line to the play and the accent was hard to understand. We will seek to get a refund.

DEAFENING SOUND LEVEL. ACCENTS INCOMPRESSIBLE

We held our ears at the opening and several times later. Accents harder to understand. Left at intermission
