Why See Room On The Broom?

Musicals

From the creators of the Gruffalo

Christmas 2024 once again sees another revival of the 2012 Olivier-nominated family show Room On The Broom. Based on the popular picture book and film by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler (The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo's Child), this is a real treat for young children and includes lots of magical and musical fun!

What is the story?

A friendly witch and her loyal cat familiar are taking an evening flight through the woods, when a sudden gust of wind blows her hat, her wand and bow far, far away. She enlists the help of a dippy dog, an enchanting bird and a friendly frog to help her recover her lost belongings. But when the group all clamber upon the broom with the items, it snaps in two under all the weight! And to add to their peril, they are faced with a fearsome, fiery dragon - who will save them from the hungry giant lizard?

Tall Stories once again proves what a dab hand they are at adapting popular children's stories into live stage spectaculars, designed for the under-5 audience and their adults. A combination of fine storytelling, musical talent and engaging characters has seen their stage shows garner rave reviews all around the UK and abroad!

Donaldson and Scheffler have also worked together on various other children's titles including The Snail & the Whale, A Squash and a Squeeze, The Smartest Giant in Town and The Tales from Acorn Wood, some of which are being made into more live stage productions as we speak!
