James Corden and Anna Maxwell Martin star in Joe Penhall's world premiere of The Constituent', directed by Matthew Warchus. Premiering at the Old Vic, the play explores politics, empathy, and safety in the world of local politicians. Corden portrays an ex-serviceman, while Maxwell Martin plays an opposition backbencher. Penhall cites his fascination with growing antipathy towards elected politicians as the inspiration behind The Constituent.

Ella Hickson's adaption of Oedipus is coming to The Old Vic in 2025, starring Academy Award winner Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody, No Time To Die) and Olivier Award winner Indira Varma (Game of Thrones). This Greek classic is sure to have you gripped, with co-director Matthew Warchus noting: "Sophocles' play, [is] arguably the best-plotted tale ever".Best known for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the 2018 Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody', Rami Malik will be stepping off the silver screen and onto the stage for this new version of Oedipus. Joining him is Game of Thrones actress and Olivier Award winner Indira Varma.
