UNMISSABLE

Went on the 17th Sept' didn't know what to expect, Four lads took to the stage and started out with some early Beatle hits. Foot tapping and clapping lead into standing, clapping and singing along as we were taken on a journey through Beatlemania. Very talented musicians who know how to put a show together, a must for any Beatle fan. ( 10/10 )

BEATLES REBORN. LIVE ON!

George in my eyes is still alive, the best ever! What a nephew to be proud of.

LET IT BE

Outstanding, it was as if we were watching the real Beatles. This is the show to see, I've see loads of shows this it the best by far! Not only did they look like them but they hit every note in every song.

FOR ME IT WAS A GREAT SHOW

I am not sure what people expected does it really matter that paul played right handed? we thought they looked very like them.......except "ringo"...the band was tight, the music playeds excellent and the costume changes and stage effects for seargeant peppers in particular fantastic. If people wanted the beatles then they should of gone to the cavern way back in the sixties!

AWESOME!

My husband and I had an amazing time at the show, the musical talent among the cast was astounding and they sounded just like the original band in our opinion. There was plenty of opportunity to get up and sing along and really get into the music. While we were there I noticed a lot of the audience weren't even nodding their heads with the music, all I can say is they must have been deaf and blind as it was a great show, well done lads :)

IF YOU LIKE BEATLES MUSIC YOU'LL LOVE THIS

Its true, there is no storyline and the show amounts to a performance by a tribute band, but what a tribute band. In most cases they didn’t get close to the original songs they were spot on! Never heard a tribute act of this quality. Brilliant!

5.0 star rating Kevin Wood from Stourport on severn

GREAT FUN - GO SEE IT!!!!

This show appears to really divide opinion - and there are quite a lot of people who feel very let down. Well. I just don't understand it! If you go and see Grease, do you expect spitting images of Travolta for example? No, of course not. As someone whose parents had Beatles singles - I'm 52 by the way - I have great memories of listening to them, and I remember the magic of watching the films. The cheekiness, the humour, the songs, the absolute star quality. I've been to the Faux-Cavern club and seen tribute acts - brilliant fun they are too. No one gripes about how close they look like the real Beatles, they just enjoy the music So, to 'Let it Be'. I'd read the reviews, but we dropped in the other day and bought tickets for £20 each. We sat downstairs. I have to say that the 'Rueben' guy was John Lennon on this occasion. And very good he, and the rest of the band were. They play some of the best songs in the world. So buy a £20 ticket and have some fun, and clap and singalong!!!

COULDN'T FAULT IT!

After reading the poor reviews on this site we were dreading what we were about to see. However my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The musicianship was faultless as were the vocals especially "Paul". I have seen Beatles tribute bands before but this was in a different league with a wide range of songs and a cleverly programmed AV production to narrate the proceedings. No half empty Theatre on this particular performance. Go see it and make up your own mind!!

STOP MOANING

Take no notice of these people moaning about this show, if you want a good night out , a good dance with great music and you like beatles, this is the one for you!

5.0 star rating A fan from London,

A GREAT SHOW

This is an exceptionally good Beatles tribute band not a musical. I think this is where some people's disappointment has arisen . I did not know what to expect but all the songs with the appropriate backdrops was excellent. I was fortunate to see the band twice & this was as good as it gets without the horrible screaming that accompanied the original band's live shows!!If you want a musical with a script this is not for you .If you love The Beatles music ,it's a brilliant show !!!

5.0 star rating Pieman from London,

GREAT NIGHT

I've read the negative reviews with sadness...Doesn't look like Paul, John, George...who gives a fig?.. they look near enough....They captured the spirit perfectly. Dad dancing......Of course dads were dancing...this was OUR time so move over you miserable tablet toting moaners.. this is OUR music....Yes we'll let you in to watch it but you'll never understand.. why?...cos you weren't there. We were there and it started the revolution...we didn't have the resources that you have...we just had the music...and we still love it! and we'll dad dance to the grave and we'll sing along out of tune and if you don't like it then don't go ..but if you wanna see what it was like, if you wanna enjoy the music as it should be ....raw and noisy..then go see the show without expectations....just enjoy it

5.0 star rating Ed from London,

FANTASTIC SHOW

Love this show..Seen it 3 times with various friends and had great fun... The reviewers who call it a glorified karaoke are probably the ones who are too stiff to get up and join in...It would be impossible to condense the Beatles story into 90 minutes so the next best thing is a celebration of the music and these guys nail it.

4.5 star rating Ann t from england

BIRTHDAY TREAT FOR MY PARTNER

went on sat 15th September not knowing what to expect.Don't expect a musical, it is four musicians with adverts and TV clips in the background, but we thought it was really good and would go again. Every one got up and danced to the music.

4.5 star rating Lloyd.C from Wales uk

A GREAT NIGHT OUT!!!

This is a really good show, granted it's not a story of the Beatles as such from beginning to end,but a history of the songs and the era they were released.Together with the clever use of props at either end of the stage(I won't mention what they are!!!) and the black and White footage,I thought it was a great show.Everyone by mid way were standing up,singing and clapping .The artists on stage really know how to play their respective instruments. These great songs will be around for years......I'm even tempted to see it again !!! I bought the cheapest seats going and cannot complain at all.I had a great view from the last row but one with a great view of the stage and the lads. All in all a great night ....you cannot help but to join in.

4.5 star rating Ian owen from Lancashire, uk

FAB

Watched on dec 8 and had a great night. Ok, so they are not replicas to look at but I've seen a lot worse and musically it was excellent- I'm a musician and have seen countless Beatles cover bands- this was just about the best! Just bear in mind it's not a "musical" rather a classily staged cover band performing fantastic music - if you're a Beatles fan and you get to see the show I did you will not be disappointed. Ps is it cheap - of course not - it's in London!!

4.5 star rating Colin Sturges from Tring, Herts.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE

Having read some of these almost vitriolic reviews we expected the worse but I agree with Kevin, below. Yes, it's a tribute band and yes they're perhaps not the VERY best but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We honestly couldn't care if they aren't the spitting image, or if they're left or right handed, we were there for the songs. No, it's not so much a "show", per se, but the singing was great, the playing was great, the lighting and sound were better than you might get elsewhere...and those songs! We'd already got to '65 by the interval, so if you like the later ones, you're in for a treat: "While my Guitar..." fantastic!

4.5 star rating Anonymous from London,

GOOD SHOW I ENJOYED IT.

I have seen lots of bad reviews but I do not agree. First they are not The Beatles but I should say that they do play and sing really well they may not be perfect but the show may very much recall the Beatles. The voice of 'John Lennon' is absolutely uncanny you would say John is there talking to you. Concerning the wigs that the cast use, well people wake up they are trying to portrait all the phases that the Beatles have passed through the years. They cannot make their hair to grow long during the show!!! It is better to be reasonable about expectations. The show is amazing a good cast BUT NO THEY ARE NOT SIMILAR TO THE BEATLES but they are what they are good musicians and actors showing a little bit of the 60's. I consider the show excellent and good fun, if one goes with an open mind one will love the show as I did yesterday.

4.0 star rating DesB from London,

EXPENSIVE BUT ENJOYABLE

Im not quite sure why so many people hate this. Its a straight tribute band with better than average backgrounds. They havent got the voices spot on but its fine after all the actual Beatles arent appearing. Everyone seemed to be having a whale of a time the night I went. It is expenive but if you sign up to all the theatre websites you can get 3rd row seats like I di for £30 then its not so bad. Bottom line is i think the negative reviewers had unrealistic expectations. It was blatantly well received by the vast majority the night I went and it was packed. I wouldnt panic if you have tickets and read these reviews. I saw the Bootleg Beatles once and they were closer I think but then Ive seen Macca a few times and he doesnt nail the Beatles sound exactly anymore either.

GOOD SHOW!

was really not looking forward to going to this show after reading the reveiws on here, but decided to try it out and leave if awful. we knew exactly what we were getting, ie a musical journey through the beatles career and not a 'west end' show as such. my wife is from Birkenhead, loves the beatles and her dad even had a fight with John Lennon when they were still the silver beatles (he kept swearing in a club in front of my mother-in-law) as i said we werent looking forward to it but were pleasantly surprised and had a really good evening. the band were tight, 'McCartney' wasnt left handed but to be honest he played ok so who cares. loved all the songs especially the psychedelic era and sgt pepper stuff which you dont get to hear from most tributes it was well produced and the guy playing 'lennon' was superb an enjoyable evening

3.5 star rating Anonymous from London,

ENJOYABLE

If you are after a night of entertainment with a great atmosphere then let it be will provide that. If you are after a true west end production, then this may not provide that. That said a really enjoyable show. However , the ticket prices are questionable ....

3.5 star rating Jack the lad from Loughborough,

PRETTY GOOD ACTUALLY!

Got to see both casts. The show can't be compared to anything else in the West End. Its not a musical or play. Its a Beatles tribute concert. A tough call! There are over 200 Beatles songs and there are 40 or more here, which means there's no time for script! Still some notable exceptions. No I feel fine, We can work it out or I am the walrus and some questionable selections. Give Peace a chance!Someone should tell them its not a Beatles song. I've seen tons of Beatle bands and go to the Liverpool Beatles convention every year. I've seen old men in wigs and boys without a clue-good soundalikes who look nothing like the Beatles and good lookalikes who sound shocking but this is not one of those. The actors achieve the achievable. No more or less. One cast looks good sound great. They're not the Beatles but as close as you can get. The other is not a lookalike band but sound good and still better than the average Beatle band. All dressed up in fantastic lights, costumes and video.

A CONCERT, NOT A MUSICAL

Very disappointed, expected a musical with a story to tell. Yes the musicians were good and we were all up and singing and dancing but I could have got this from a tribute band at half the price I paid. Would not recommend this as a musical at all. Backbeat was so much better. I was in row J but still could not see all of the stage and there were at least 4 or 5 people sitting to my right whose view must have been far more obstructed. If you want a concert and are willing to pay the money then go, but watch where you sit.

3.0 star rating L. K. Whitley from Kuwait

JUST A TRIBUTE SHOW

While the lads singing the Beatle's songs were good, the show overall is boring. There is no story line. It is just 4 guys up on stage singing to the audience. Of course, the audience knows and loves these songs and so they are singing along with the band. Most of the people in the audience were older and more easily entertained. However, for the price I paid for the tickets ( stall seats ), I would not go to see this show again. It was just boring. Also, I would not recommend this show for a younger audience.

COULD BE BETTER

Saw Let it Be in Bristol tonight its not a bad show quite enjoyed have to say some parts are quite boring thou especially the beginning .... ive read a lot of reviews about people getting up singing and dancing didnt find that in fact some audiance members were very quiet... all cast members were very good except wasnt keen on guy who played John Lennon ... on the whole enjoyed it but could do with a little interaction .

2.5 star rating Anthony from London,

GOOD - BUT BELOW PAR FOR THE WEST END

Ofcourse the music is great! Ofcourse they get you up out of your seat! The songs do that. It's the Beatles afterall. But as a West End show? Well below par. No production. No dancers. No interaction with the audience. It really is for Beatles enthusiasts only. It really is a roll call of hits. Good but the West end usually delivers so much more.

1.0 star rating Simon & Kate from Croydon

JUST ANOTHER TRIBUTE SHOW.....YAWN

Not a bad show, but there are much better Beatles tribute shows on offer. The musicians were ok but looked like a mix of several other bands who didnt really gel together. Vocals were a bit ropey although guitar playing not bad. Not much of a story line, just 4 lads on stage playing Beatles music, which you can see anyttime at your local club. Overall, disappointed. There are much better Beatles bands out there. To summarise.....stay at home, Not a show worthy of West End status.

LETIT BE A SHORT RUN

An overblown concert by the bootleg beatles, great songs (obviously) and great musicianship but no dialogue or even much of a thread joining it together and the costumes looked like they were from your local fancy dress shop, hardly west end!

NOT A SHOW!

A nice evening but not much more than an evening with a good tribute band. This is too expensive for a tribute band & as such was disappointing. Musically they can all play but apart from a few narrations over the PA just a tribute band at the end of the day.

BELOW STANDARD

Went with a group of friends to see the show out of the 6 of us only one liked it and thats only because a Beatles fanatic the rest of us were left wanting something to follow or at least some interaction its just a bog standard Beatles tribute band im picking the next show we see that i like musicals !!

LET IT BE

I reviewed let it be with many other people on the ticketmaster site. only to have my honest review which wasn't insulting it told the truth as I saw it - that some of the Beatles look nothing like the real thing and they sound really good but not very Beatley my review along with many others as been removed view the cached pages of the site and you'll see many reviews (over 20 all 1/2 stars reviews)have been removed, but five star ones, even those that just say things like "Just like the real thing" and "FAB" remain. its disgusting... they are breeding more 1star reviews by not giving people fair warning of what they may find to be untenable in a West End production Thank you London Theatreland for allowing the truth to be heard

INSULT TO THE BEATLES

Yes Ann from london it does matter that Paul played left handed, because people are saying outrageous things like as good as the real thing and giving the show 5stars reviews. There are 2 casts to Let It Be, one cast in the bright coloured lighting are passable at a pinch the second cast look nothing like the Beatles That Paul, looks and sounds so unlike the real thing it s laughable. the people who see that cast (aside from fanatical fans the like of which i had the misfortune of being next too, who told me in great detail during the intermission she was close personal friends with one of the Beatles and in graphic detail went on to bore me about the of the number of times she had seen him, she also repeatedly mouthed i love you to him when not filming, taking photos and singing along tunelessly) would tell you this group of Beatles are tuneful and skilled yes, but anything like the Beatles NO! and Ringo sounds nothing like the real Ringo at all not even in tone! Rubbish AVOID

Think i must have been in the same night as you Rainman i was sat behind some middle aged women making utter idiots of themselfs told anyone that would listen they were huge fans of one of the guys who play a Beatle whooped and cheered everytime he sang took photo's constantly and shouted out completly spoilt show for me which wasnt up to much in the first place just glorified average tribute concert.

How can some people say this show is like listening to the original Beatles !! its a below average tribute band that look nothing like the Beatles anybody can sing Beatles songs but for people to say like listening to the real thing is beyond me.

WISE MAN

Take the advice of a wise man, Pop into you local pub next time a Beatles tribute band is on loads cheaper and loads better show than this, This is the worst west end show I have ever had the misfortune to see. Sounds and looks nothing like The Beatles, cheap looking costumes and the silliest looking wigs I've seen ever in a professional production, it is litte wonder this is disowned by the real Beatles and is going ahead against their wishes!!

1.0 star rating Matt from Basingstoke

VERY DISAPPOINTED

I thought more effort would have gone in to a show celebrating 50 years of the best band in the world! But no what they settled on was a right handed Macca, whose accent did a roaming tour of the globe and who looked more like Yoko! And a set of mish-mash muso's from other tribute bands who are obviously not gigging any more - I wonder why? The production team obviously couldn't have had many decent band members to choose from as the one's in the shown didn't gel together at all - surely the production team could have done better?? DIRE!

1.0 star rating Anonymous from London,

RUBBISH

rubbish and an insult to The Beatles! There are two casts one is slightly better in terms of look-alikes and sounding a little like the Beatles, but even they are a poor tribute band and struggle on the higher notes. The second cast while they sing in tune more are laughable, they sound nothing like the real Beatles, unless you are very drunk and John and Paul look more like Robson and Jerome. Both Paul's are right handed! and I have no idea where they hail from, but English certainly doesn't sound like either s native tongue. both have very poor diction, one of them looks and sounds more like Shakin Stevens! This isn't a West End show it is a travesty!

1.0 star rating Rich & Jess from London,

SHOCKING

There is no storyline and the show amounts to little more a performance by a tribute band and what a tribute band, what an insult, what a joke! In most cases they didn’t even get close to the original songs! We have Never heard a tribute act of this quality outside of a end of the pier show. total crap! Avoid this insult, if anyone thinks this is anything like the real Beatles go watch YouTube clips of this show, then a clip of the fab four then say they are like the real thing

RUBBISH

Why is this even in the west end its not a musical at all caberet stars in your eyes tribute band more a chicken in the basket boozy night out!! its a joke people are being ripped off IMO.

1.0 star rating Bud Wiser from Northampton

SO BAD

I am lost for words, the first half is so boring the hi-light is getting another beer, the second half warms up and gets going right at the death, but it is too late by then and even then its ruined by a complete lack of any likeness to the people the actors are portraying either visually or vocally and since when was Paul McCartney right handed and from Uzbekistan? Chronic and terminal

1.0 star rating Heather M from Leeds

DISSAPOINTMENT

Christmas shopping trip to london followed by a top west end show was the rather expensive treat i booked for myself and a few friends we all expected the usual west end show not a no acting or story tribute band playing a concert you would think they would cast people that looked and sounded like the Beatles at least but still a poor show and as for the ones jumping up and down and reliving the 60's give it a rest !!

1.0 star rating Cats Mother from Torquay

POOR FOR A WEST END SHOW

Lots have said the same its not a west end typical show a caberet tribute band its very tacky IMO with laughable wigs and costumes i do like the Beatles or wouldnt of booked but this was not what i expected at all and wouldnt wish to repeat.

1.0 star rating Lionel Whittle from Northampton

A TALE OF TWO CASTS

Approach Let it be with caution, there are two sets of Beatles. Emanuele Angeletti and Reuven Gershon as 'Paul and John' are well worth the ticket price, sounding and looking the part. However if you get the other cast, be aware The Beatles music is still good, but it is dragged down and robotic and souless delivered by little more than a fair to middling covers band who look and sound very little like the Beatles.

1.0 star rating MatthewP from Sussex

POOR SHOW

My wife and I were given Let It Be tickets as a Christmas present. After reading the reviews we went open minded know lung we thought what to expect. However we were still shocked at the half empty theatre (we refused a free up grade to the front 'mosh pitting' isn't my style since my knee operation) First act is dull and boring despite the fabulous Lennon/McCartney songs quite a feat! It dispenses with the time period The Beatles did play live together. The second half is patchy and lacks punch, spark and any humour a parade of terrible costumes and alwful wigs which do a cast that bear no resemblance psychically or vocally to the Beatles no favours at all, given the number of far superior Beatles tribute acts out there and there is no acting involved I was mystified as to the choice of musicians playing the Fab Four a right handed, slitty eyed, gaunt faced Macca and a small schoolboy playing Ringo beggar belief. Just an ok covers band , needs recasting desperately

1.0 star rating Jake B from Liverpool

LET IT BE

The new left handed Paul is fantastic!! Blown away by him the over night, hope he's the replacement for the thin faced Paul who sings well, but not Like Our Lord McCartney and he looks even less like the great man, still room for improvement, but Things are getting better!

1.0 star rating Nick Searle from Somerset

DREADFUL

I am sure that someone could write a fantastic show about the story of the Beatles. This wasn't it. If you want to go and watch a Beatles tribute band then there are many places you could go far cheaper than the £50 per ticket that it cost us. There was no story. Just 4 lads singing all the hits and in between them changing costumes a voiceover giving you a very brief synopses of what happened during a particular year. I would suggest that if you we're going to London to watch a musical then this should be the last one on your list. I have been watching shows in London for 20 years and had never walked out of a show.....until this one:(

1.0 star rating The Adams family from Swindon

LET DOWN

If i saw this show at my local club or a works dinner and dance do its passable but its not a west end show just a Beatles tribute band concert not up to the standard of other west end shows IMO and ive seen quite a few.

NOT IMPRESSED

Had this show booked as a Easter treat for our stay in london what a dissapointment not at all what i expected they dont look or sound much like the Beatles, some fanatical fans spoil the show i overheard one saying seen the show x amount of times .. once was enough for me next west end show i see will be a typical musical not a tribute concert.
