The West End's newest purpose built theatre, @sohoplace, hosts the return of the National Theatre's much lauded triplet of plays exploring the social ecosystem of the present-day country. In Death of England - Delroy, Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You) plays the titular Delroy, who must wrestle with what it means to be British and black in a progressive, but not progressive enough, world.
Death of England - Michael; Death of England - Delroy and Death of England - Closing Time can all be enjoyed either as separate plays or a full, interconnected trilogy, delving into the nation's splintered sense of identity in the modern age through three individual stories. Hugely acclaimed upon their original releases, don't miss these thought-provoking, exciting and at times searingly funny theatrical works!
