FANTASTIC

My friend and I saw this show last night and I cannot praise it enough. The cast are fantastic, the set was beautifully done. This is an extremely slick production. Everyone's timing was perfect. Patina Miller and Sheila Hancock are perfect for the roles they played. All the nuns were brilliant. If you only see one show this year, it has to be this one!!!

5.0 star rating Lisa Bailey from England

A MUST SEE!!

The Show was absolutely amazing! All the cast were full of energy and sang/acted and looked outstanding. It did not matter that the songs weren't they same as the film, they were uplifting and funny. I have seen many musicals and this is by far my best. Well Done Cast and Crew!!

5.0 star rating Richard from England

SIMPLY SUPERB!

Just Seen Sister Act with my partner as it was surprise for her. We went to the Matinee Performance on Saturday, I didnt know what to expect as havent seen the Films. Was Blown away by the performance of the cast, the show was absolutely Brilliant! I cannot praise the cast enough, the scenery was amazing. The Chorus songs from all the nuns have to be seen to be believed. We had Upper Circle Tickets, these were great seats and not to far away from the stage. Even though you are looking down on the stage. I Saw Hairspray 2 weeks ago, if you think is Hairspray good, Sister Act will knock you for 6! I gave this show a Standing Ovation and would not hesitate to reccomend everyone to see this Incredible Show.

THE BSET THING IN THE WORLD I'V EVER SEEN

the whole show was so good if was more than i ever expected the singing was the best and it was so funny too had me laughing all way through. I have only one thing to say bout the before going in to find my seat what a toatl mess bodies everywhere people pushing basically a total free for all dash to get to ur seat. maybe you need to think this through and let elderly people and disabled people in first so they can find there seats and have a proper line up to walk in if it was't the fact my husband had taken me for our annivesrary i'd have walked out n not seen the wonderful production but the show far out weighed the bad experience i had before the show.

SISTER ACT IS AMAZING

I took my teenager daughter to see Sister Act and must say it was one of the most entertaining, amazing, jaw dropping, funny shows I have ever seen. A fantastic show that I would recommend for all ages. The set changes are a sight to behold how the nuns make it round the stage without being knocked over is a wonder. Fantastic seeing professionals of all ages coming together to produce a HIT MUSICAL.. Long may it run and congratrulations to one and all.

FANTASTIC!

We went to the show last night, Thursday 8th October 2009. It was outstanding, one of the best nights of our lives! Not only was the cast magnificent but the show is the best musical we have ever seen (and we have seen a lot!!!). Despite a 5 mm technical problem solved incredibly smoothly, the show was such that they got a stand up ovation! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! Go, no,... Run to see it! Thank you again guys for this amazing show! Ps: I never wrote a review before, but this show deserves it!!!

5.0 star rating Harri from London , England

WONDERFUL

I saw the show a few weeks a go it was amazing Patina Miller has a fantastic voice and makes a brilliant Dolores and is a star of the show, also Sheila Hancock plays the mother superior and is very good, every one expects Whoopi Goldberg to play Delores but times move on and it was time for a new one but no one can replace Whoopi as she was wonderful, but i recommend the show to everyone because its so good be prepared for a amazing sister act experience with all the glitter, glam and singing!!!

5.0 star rating Amanda Holden x x x from England!

SUPERB SHOW AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Congratulations to the cast & producers of Sister Act. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it last night. Scene changes & choreography were remarkable, the performances exceptional and the singing and music a great tonic for a cold February evening. The uplift started as we entered this fabulous theatre. I have to commend the front of house staff especially Nik in the Circle bar who topped off the evening with his friendly banter and kind attention making our evening just so special.

SISTER ACT FANTABULOUS!

Excellent! I watched it on Saturday 27th Feb matineee. The understudies were playing Deloris and the Reverand. They were absolutely brilliant!! Thank you so much for a very entertaining production. I loved it!! There was so much to laugh at - Brilliant!!

A STAR *****

just got back home from this show and i must say a big WOW! i read these reviews earlier before me and my partner left for the show and was a little put off because there is no music from the film in this show, but once in and watching i was glued, the show is amazing and the way all the scenery changes took my breath away, a bit hot inside so take water like someone suggested in another review, you'll be feeling great when you leave and its money very well spent, patina plays deloris van cartier brilliantly and the rest make you believe your watching the film, hence not bothered by no original music. a must see and great for the family. final thought.... i bet you watch the film soon after seeing this show. i was hooked. thankyou to the whole cast.....amazing| David, shepperton, surrey.

OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

I went to see this musical with my two sisters and teenage daughter on our weekend in London, it was absolutely out of this world. On the night both lead parts were played by the understudies but I can not imagine anyone doing a better job! If you like your musicals full of colour, humour and sentiment then this one is for you, it will cetainly leave you with a feel-good feeling. I read some bad reviews before I saw the production but I honestly would recomend this to anyone with a pulse - if you find fault with it then you must be from another planet!!!

SARAH FROM BEXHILL

Just got home from watching the afternoon performance of Sister Act was a bit disapointed to find Shelia Handcock does not perform the afternoon shows... but it didn't matter it was a truely wonderful colourful all singing all dancing show.... dont miss it.. one of the best I have seen.... I am still tapping and jigging and humming......

5.0 star rating Penny from Kent, England

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!

Time just flew by - I could watch it all over again right now. It's not a show for young children as they wouldn't understand the storyline and jokes but anyone over the age of about 12 would love it, I guarantee!

5.0 star rating Andy Percival from Shoreham by Sea England

UPLIFTING

Ok so the plot is transparent, but I cant think of a night at the theatre I enjoyed more. The whole cast are superb. Just don't miss this show.

TOTALLY OUTSTANDING.++++++++++

I have seen tons of musicals, I never write reviews, but thought it was a must for this show, outstanding, enjoyed every minute of it, the cast were fantastic, Whoopi was brilliant along with the leading lady, her voice was amazing, this musical takes some beating, xxx it must be seen. Great Music, great acting & great show, well done to all that put this together.

5.0 star rating Iain Gillies from Bristol, England.

THE SHOW TO SEE

We went to see the Show last night and were totally blown away by the whole production. The whole cast were brilliant and we laughed all the way through. But what made it special for me was the fact that Whoopi Goldberg graced the stage.A Global superstar who just gave the whole production that extra special sparkle. Thankyou to the entire production team for a brilliant night's entertainment I will remember for a long time.

5 STARS FOR THE MUSICAL - SHAME ABOUT THE SEAT

It is obvious that it is bums on seats and common courtesy is out the window while the show is on – I was sitting in the back of the stalls V1 and there was a constant stream of traffic coming through the exit behind me ! The doors opened and closed at least a dozen times if not more - I haven’t been to the theatre for awhile is this now the norm? and why does management allow this sort of behaviour (liquor sales perhaps) ?? I paid £47.50 I did not consider this good value for the money spent.

FIRST CLASS ENTERTAINMENT

A wonderful venue with a top class show! If you are hesitiating before purchasing tickets..then don't!!! Here the Palladium provides an intimate setting for some involving and extremely well performed entertainment. The score and script contain moments that are at times very funny and at others very moving. All the singing is top notch as is the acting. A standing ovation was given at the performance I attended!!! Overall this show will leave you with a warm feeling inside!

WORTH THE WAIT!

The cast and show were amazing.. I loved every minute of it! Definitely worth the 2 year wait and great new songs and take on a classic movie.

5.0 star rating Charlotte from London, England

AMAZING!

The show was amazing great acting, amazing singers was absolutely blown away, I've never been to a show that has a standing ovation during the finale, the one crittasim is that their was not a single sister act song and besides having the same characters their wasnt much that actually followed the any of the films which I found a little disappointing as I feel the songs is what makes it sister act and the poor layout of the eventim apollo theater as the seats were really poor view you couldnt see much at all but beside that its was truly amazing performance!

5.0 star rating Sharon Edwards from London, England

AMAZING !!

We watched the show last night 30th July 2022. The show was absolutely amazing , the cast, costumes, set the best, this has to be the best show I have ever seen and I’ve seen a quite a few. Beverly knight never disappoints the most amazing voice ever,. Jennifer Saunders brought the best comedic aspect to the show . A must watch for all , the rest of the casts voices were also amazing , best show !!

RIOTOUSLY JOYFUL

Absolutely superb. Really entertaining. Felt a little silly crying a few happy tears till I saw the gentleman in front of me literally sobbing in happiness. Thank you Sister act. Didn't realise how much I needed that

GREAT SHOW

went to the ticket booth in leicester square and was recommended this show - thought it was absolutely wonderful took my daughter and her two sons - aged 15 and 11 they agreed with me- the whole cast had a standing ovation by the whole of the theatre at the end of the evening. this was well deserved . the songs, music, interpretation of the film were excellent - came out with a real feel good feeling -well done to everyone

SISTER ACT

Sister act was fantastic, All the actors portrayed their roles fantastically. The songs were excellent Only ONE disapointment----No one sang "I will follow him" from the film. I took my husband for his bithday and we were disapointed as myself and my bridesmaids sang this song on my wedding day its on u tube ! x However we would go and see it again it was excellent.

4.5 star rating Natasha from uk

SUPERB!!!

I have been to many musicals and i must say this one stood out from the crowd. It was a fantastic light hearted fun show. I would recommend it to people of all ages (though some of the humour may go over the little ones head) It is a definate must see!

FANTASTIC!

My friend and I booked to see Sister Act at the very last minute. We had a fabulous evening. The show is superb. Dance routines/set/singing all top notch. Only thing to spoil night was the theatre was very hot-take water with you. If you've unsure of which musical to see in London - do yourselves a favour and see this one!

4.5 star rating Adele from England

VERY ENTERTAINING AND A MUST SEE!!!

Just saw the show tonight with two of my mates and we laughed and clapped all through! THe singing and acting was excellent. All the cast got a standing ovation at the end. I was a bit disappointed though that no songs from the movie was sung! That would have made the show complete!!

SISTER ACT REVIEW

Went to see the show last night and i thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting was brilliant and the props were very creative. We sat in the stalls and the seat was very nice and the view was second-to-none. The transport links to the Palladium were good as Oxford Circus tube station was next to the theatre. If you're planning a trip to New York it will be worthwhile.

4.0 star rating Julie from London

EXCELLENT SHOW

I was not too familiar with the film, so made no comparison. It was an absolute joy to watch. Smiled and laughed all the way through. Some excellent singing voices. All the nun characters were great fun. Costumes and stage sets very colourful. Really brightened my day. Great for all ages. The audience clapped along and laughed. Glad I went to see it.

SPOT THE DELIBERATE MISTAKE !

A great evening's entertainment for the whole family. Did anyone else spot the misprint on the Philadelphia newspaper shown at the interval in the lower right part of the page where it says there were now 8 masses on a Sunday at 6,8,10am and 12,2,4 and 6pm - that's only SIX !!

3.5 star rating J.Anderson from London

NOT SURE IT WAS WORTH SEEING

I went to see sister act with two friends. We all enjoyed it and the acting was very good. The stage looked brilliant throughout each scene. However, two of us did not realise there would be NO songs from the original film. We kept on hoping we woulld recognise the next song and the next. We waited for the final song, thinking this must be it, but was bitterly let down when they sang another song we did not recognise. We both left the theatre feeling a little disapointed despite the good acting. Can you imagine going to see Dirty Dancing without the song and the lift at the end of the performance? not worth thinking about. Overall it was ok, as the acting was good and they were funny parts throughout the performace. I'm not sure we would have gone to see the play if we known it lacked the original songs. We believe it is the songs that made the movie and without the songs, the play did not live up to the expectation of the film. The original song at the end would have made a difference

3.0 star rating Gary Auld from London, England

BRILLIANTLY DISAPPOINTING

Incredibly funny, great vocals, brilliant choreography throughout but still disappointing. In my opinion there was zero references to the films. As a sister act movie enthusiast it was the music that made the sister act films and there was not one original song played. An absolute tragic failing for me…not even a direct quote or two. ALMA!!! CHECK YOUR BATTERY. Two years in the waiting to be disappointed…

3.0 star rating Michael from London, England

NOT AS GOOD AS THEY SAY

Well without Beverly Knight it would be a loss all in all not that impressed. The singer’s just didn’t have it in them to pull it off. The stage setting is poor. Not that impressed with the Theatre’s seating that said we are in the Circle. Only halfway through it so let hope it gets better. It’s not about the singing that for sure and it’s not funny.

3.0 star rating Joanne from Highland

NO ORIGINAL MUSIC

The actors/singers were very good but when your reason for going is for the original music and they don't play it, well that's a disappointment.

3.0 star rating Valerie Dyer from London, England

VERY GOOD SHOW

I thought the show was very good. The singing and production great. But feel there was something missing. I expected more from the second act. No big finale. Slightly disappoint. Didn't leave the theatre on a high a little deflated.

2.5 star rating MLT from London

MY VIEW

I can certainly see that there was a lot of hard work put in to the blocking and direction of the performance. The Ensemble was energetic and in good voice. However, I think the show was let down a little probably by the sound engineer who couldn't seem to find the right sound levels. Rather than turning up the volume of the 'Principles', everyone's volume was turned up. Meaning that the principles were lost within everyone else and therefore very indistinguishable. The scenery was very impressive and the lighting, equally so. Dispite a bit of a weak start and "disco diva" Deloris Van Cartier's voice not quite reaching it's full potential, it was still an enjoyable evening and I'm glad I went.

VERY DISAPPOINTING

So disappointed. Waited 2 years to see this. No whoopi but thought with the rest of the cast should be good. Wrong!! No Beverley knight or Lesley Joseph - no original songs from the movie WHY?? It’s like Frozen without Let It Go!! The songs made the movie. Poor sound could not hear most of what was said and sung! Certainly not worth the money I paid for the tickets. If you love the movie then the musical will be a complete let down..

1.0 star rating Elaine from London, England

SISTER ACT

Very disappointed. Went last night to see show with my daughter, we were so looking forward to the show as we love the film. Not one song from the film+little reference to the story line. The scenery +props no existent. The sound very poor, you couldn't hear clearly what was spoken. If you hadn't seen the film you might have enjoyed but if you had it's a no no .Love going to the theatre +sadly have to say this is the worst show ever.First time I've walked out before the final encore!!

NOT... SISTER ACT!

Not sure who the people are going to this show? just got home and am in shock ! absolutely NO songs from film not one!!! story weak , feel as if i am in an altered reality ! why is everyone saying this is good??? it's crap! so basically if you want to see a story about nuns go see this, if your expecting Sister Act , DON'T go, how they get away with it is beyond me?

1.0 star rating Linda from London, England

SISTER ACT

Firstly , I want to apologise to all the actors, musicians, etc, for my review, because I know you’re all excellent at what you do!!!! However I fell asleep in parts and was soooooooo disappointed with the fact that the performance was nothing like the original film . As others have mentioned, if you go to watch something, you expect it to have some resemblance to the original film. I felt heartbroken that it didn’t. ( not one bit) As a catholic, who is inspired by the original movieI I find the musical in some parts absolutely offensive. I will unfortunately not be going to watch again ( unless the musical is rewritten so that everything that is amazing about the film is entwined into the musical.) I was brought up a catholic, my Aunty was a nun and my brother is a catholic priest. And I love the Pope, I was so upset with the script changes throughout the musical, it’s like why would you want to change it so that it doesn’t resemble the original film? Out of all the musicals I’ve watched( I’ve watched quite a few) I won’t recommend this to anybody.

1.0 star rating B from Dublin, Ireland

TACKY AND OFFENSIVE

I have seen many musicals, but this was disappointing and offensive. As a Catholic and a singer, I get the showbiz slant, but the lyrics in some if the songs were offensive to some of the most sacred elements of Catholic faith. The singers and sets were good. None of the songs from the movie were included. Some of the costumes were OTT tacky, especially altar boys in skimpy outfits. This wasn't half as good as the movie, and written by people with no knowledge or respect for Christian faith. The whole comedic angle just did not work and religious life was ridiculed disgracefully. The policeman 's song was self pitying I will not reccomend this to friends.

1.0 star rating S D from London, England

LET DOWN

Don’t waste your money! No offence to the actors however the show was nothing like the film! Not a single song from the original films, no good feeling, the only feeling was frustration! Gutted!! Feeling let down and disappointed

1.0 star rating Carly from Belfast

DON'T GO IF YOU LOVE THE MOVIE!

I just saw the touring show tonight and I feel bad leaving this review as it has nothing to do with the cast, great performances by all but I had to give it 1 star because of the show itself, it was painful to watch. I love the movie and the songs make it, I booked the show excited to hear the upbeat gospel songs, but not 1 song was used. How can you have sister act with no 'aint no mountain high enough'!?. I couldn't get over it. Some great singers, awful songs. Songs make a musical, i'm sorry to say but this is the panto version of sister act. I couldn't wait until it was over unfortunately!

1.0 star rating Aso y from Singapore

DISAPPOINTED!

I saw Sister Act for the first time in 2017 and it was one of my 3 favourite shows. I lost my second time in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Yes, this time I was looking forward to it immensely. However! Disappointed! I fell a little asleep during the show… I wanted to be excited to see the progress that Deloris and Mother understand each other, and to see the passion that sisters brought out in each other… The axis of the story is totally off. The characters of sisters Patrick and Robert are missing. By the way, my favourite is Sister Robert. Many songs are not according to the movie. Anyway, it’s a shame. I didn’t feel like getting up and shaking my body. I wonder if this is the meaning of the loss of Whoopi. I stopped recommending it to my son in Tokyo. He doesn’t know Sister Act of 2017, but he does know the movie, so perhaps his expectation will be disappointed.

1.0 star rating Francesco from London, England

WORST MUSICAL I HAVE EVER SEEN

I have seen many musicals and plays in my life. This is by far the worst I have ever see. And for the first time I didn't clap or stood at the end of the show to congratulate the whole cast. This musical has nothing to do with the movie. The director decided to create a new story but keeping the original name. This misleads a lot of theatre goers. There was no a single song that was sang in the movie. The script and costumes made fun of Christianity. It is fine not to be religious, but a different thing is to make fun of a religion (no matter which religion).
