Why see Billie The Kid?

Embracing a new world

Seventeen-year-old Billie Belle, used to life's challenges in a southern Bible Belt town, counts on her childhood sweetheart Brody Benson as her one constant through a difficult world. Their future plans, hinging on Billie's scholarship hopes, unravel when she discovers Brody's secret messages with David Francis, a queer punk they go to school with. Walking the tightrope between pain and love, Billie decides to reach out to David and his unconventional group.

As Billie was seeking success within the school system, David and his pals had embraced life as misfits enjoying life outside convention. Together with her new friends, Billie embarks on a different kind of love story one centered on autonomy, equality and justice. Don't miss the premiere of this unique, new kind of musical!

Great production

I think this is the first musical ive been to knowing nothing of the story so it was an interesting experience going in cold. I went with my 28 year old daughter. I was really surprised at how well the story worked. I was worried at the start because It looks very much like it was going to be another Heather's/mean girls (which are both great in themselves). The plot quickly departed off onto its own path. It was relatively light on extreme emotionality which I appreciated after my last over traumatic evening at dear evan... the play dipped into pain a little but kept most of the content light and fun. The actors performed flawlessly and the younger versions really held thier own amongst the older ones so all in all a great night out. The set was also designed well and worked really well with the lighting. It is something I could see myself going back to. Well done to all involved. ... Read more
