Ariana Grande & Jonathan Bailey - Set To Reunite?

Kevin, December 16th, 2025

The pair are reportedly in early talks to reunite on stage in London

It looks like Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey may cast even more magic together - this time for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park With George

It's all a "watch this space" situation, with no official announcement and plenty of moving parts still to fall into place.

But according to reports, the idea being floated is a London revival directed by Marianne Elliott, which would land at the Barbican Theatre in summer 2027!

About Sunday In The Park With George

Sunday in the Park With George first premiered on Broadway in 1984, starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, and went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The musical was last seen in London in the mid-2000s, when a Menier Chocolate Factory revival transferred to the West End and picked up multiple Olivier Awards. Inspired by Georges Seurat's famous painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, the show follows the painter as he painstakingly works on his masterpiece, often at the expense of his relationship with his lover and muse, Dot.

Grande's stage roots go back to the original Broadway cast of 13: The Musical, with additional musical theatre cred from NBC's live Hairspray, where she played Penny Pingleton. Bailey, on the other hand, has been a fixture of British theatre for years, having started as a child actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company before appearing in Les Misrables, Othello, Company, The Last Five Years, cck*, and most recently Richard II.
