After Sunday

A look into life in the system.
Why see After Sunday?
A New Play By Sophia Griffin
Intimate, gut-wrenching, and balanced on the hope of Caribbean cuisine, rising playwright Sophia Griffin gives audiences a look into life in the system through a humane lens.
Directed by Corey Campbell (Romeo and Juliet, Fighting Irish, Big Aunty), After Sunday is a stirring new drama that asks what it means to be better, all while offering you a seat at the table (and a knife and fork).
What's The Story?
Ty, Leroy and Daniel are patients in a medium-secure hospital.
Ty's counting down the days to his transfer back to prison. Leroy's been inside for so long, the thought of freedom feels more frightening than familiar. And Daniel, new to the ward, just wants to be "fixed."
Every Sunday, Naomi invites them into the kitchen. She believes in the restorative power of food - the smells, the flavours, the shared memories of home. But as the sessions unfold, Naomi begins to question whether it's truly possible to create a haven within a system that was never built to hold one.
