I'm Not Being Funny

There's laughter through tears in emotional dark comedy
The Guardian
Why see I'm Not Being Funny?
We're Fine...Right?
They said WHAT? Written by Piers Black (Catching Comets), directed by Bryony Shanahan, with Tia Bannon and Jerome Yates as Billie and Peter, I'm Not Being Funny is a side-splitting new play about what happens when a married couple attempts to turn their life into comedy material, but realise that life may have other plans! Don't miss Black's critically adored two-hander in this limited run at London's Bush Theatre.
What's The Story?
Billie has a bright idea: she and her husband Peter should try stand-up comedy. So they shut themselves away in their living room, baby monitor on, and try their hand at writing a "tight five". A few jokes are told with a bit of rhythm... but the more they mine their past for material, the more they bump into things they've been avoiding.
And suddenly, the laughs aren't landing quite as easily.
