We will always love you, Dolly!
Why see The Dolly Show?
Celebrate Dolly Parton!
Back through the years, we'll go wondering once again through the life and times of the Queen of Country, Dolly Parton! The Dolly Show is bringing all the hits and rhinestones to the West End's Gillian Lynne Theatre for one very special evening.
Fresh from a triumphant tour of the States, multi-award-winning actress Kelly O’Brien and her sensational eight-piece band will commemorate Dolly's life and discography with her greatest songs, including Jolene, 9 to 5, Islands in the Stream, Here You Come Again, Coat of Many Colours and, of course, I Will Always Love You.
About Dolly Parton
A singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, author and philanthropist, Dolly did it all and has left behind a legacy like no other. Born and raised in her Tennessee mountain home, she began writing songs as a child and went on to build a career spanning almost six decades, selling more than 100 million records worldwide and becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time.
Beyond music, she made her mark as an actress, businesswoman and philanthropist, starring in films such as Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5, while her charitable work through the Dollywood Foundation helped champion childhood literacy. With 11 Grammy Awards and countless other accolades to her name, Dolly's cultural impact reaches far beyond country music, and perhaps what she will most be remembered for is her generosity and joy.
Did You Know?
In 1974, Elvis Presley wanted to record Dolly Parton's hit song I Will Always Love You. However, Dolly turned down the opportunity after Elvis's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, demanded 50% of the song's publishing rights.
