What Is The Story?

Aboard an icebound whaling vessel - the Dogstar - stranded near to the pole, the crew are facing ever-shrinking odds. There are no whales for the whalers to catch, and now their ship has become icebound. But as sickness starts to take over and the infighting threatens to become an all out mutiny, the desperate sailors start to experience heavenly visions. Is it divine intervention, or is the scurvy and darkness just sending them insane?
