Sisterly Bonds

Award-winning Hampstead Inspire alumnus Alex Rugman (How To Save A Rock) returns to the Hampstead Theatre with the drama The Urmetazoan, directed by Olivier nominee Anna Ledwich (Dry Powder; Four Minutes Twelve Seconds). This touching play brings to the stage the story of two sisters on different life paths, Alice and Abigail (played by Dorothea Myer-Bennett and Meghan Treadway respectively), in a relatable tale which asks the question of whether sisterly connections can ever truly be severed.

What Is The Story?

Alice and Abigail could not be more different. The two sisters’ lives have taken completely different courses; Alice is a brilliant, Nobel Prize-winning scientist who has been presented with the opportunity to take a one-way journey into the far reaches of space. Abigail prefers a lower-key existence, more interested in relaxing at home with a joint. But as the final countdown to Alice’s trip approaches, the unexpected rekindling of their sisterly bond forces both to confront what this goodbye truly means.
