A Brand New Work By Up & Coming Writer Ellie Kendrick

Whilst most may know her from her performances as Anne Frank in the 2009 BBC mini-series and Meera Reed in HBO phenomenon Game of Thrones, Ellie Kendrick is a prolific young writer for stage and screen. Commissioned by the Royal Court Theatre and directed by RashDash physical theatre duo Helen Goalen and Abi Green, her second play Hole merges word, music and movement to examine how patriarchal power structures are formed and used.

In an era where closets are wrenched open and their skeletons laid bare for the world to see, women are no longer staying their tongues against sexism. Blending gender politics with the surreal, Kendrick's fierce feminist call-to-arms sees three women force their way out of a hole in the ground. Loud and unapologetic, these self-proclaimed harpies are singing, moving, taking up space and throwing open the gates that once guarded their oppressors.
