Why see Our Public House?
Listen Up!
Award-winning playwright Barney Norris brings modern Britain to life in this heartwarming and hilarious new play! Inspired by conversations with more than 600 people across the country, the production welcomes a local community ensemble to perform alongside the professional cast. The show combines spoken English, British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English (SSE), creative captioning and live music to create an inclusive experience led by both deaf and hearing performers.
What's The Story?
After an entire town spoils their ballots in protest, the local pub becomes the last place where people are still willing to talk face-to-face. As the rain pours outside, landlady Sanjana welcomes grieving families, familiar regulars and surprise visitors into a night filled with arguments, confessions, music and unlikely romance.
