A gay love story meets the Great American Songbook in this UK premiere of Golden Globe and Grammy winner Mark Sonnenblick's Midnight at the Never Get, with a fresh staging directed by Tony and Drama Desk Award winner David Cromer (The Band's Visit). This strictly limited run is already shaping up to be one of this year's must-see events!
Taking on the role of Trevor is Ben Platt, who is just one award away from an EGOT.
What's The Story?
Set in 1965 New York City, the show follows Trevor Copeland and Arthur Brightman, two men whose romance is lawfully forbidden. By night, they perform together in a secret nightclub act known as "Midnight," pouring their devotion and defiance into love songs while the world around them demands they stay hidden. As a historic movement begins to gather force, they're faced with an impossible choice: keep their heads down or risk everything to be truly seen.
Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Ben Platt has become one of the finest performers of his generation. He won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for the title role in Dear Evan Hansen, later reprising the part on film opposite Julianne Moore and Amy Adams. He returned to Broadway to great acclaim in Parade, earning a second Tony nomination, and recently reopened New York's Palace Theatre with his solo concert residency, Ben Platt: Live at the Palace.
Please note: The producers can't guarantee the appearance of any performers on any specific date.
