What's The Story?

Platt will play Trevor Copeland, one half of a couple at the centre of the musical's story. Set in New York in 1965, the show follows Trevor and Arthur Brightman, performers and lovers at a time when their relationship is illegal. The pair create a clandestine nightclub act, "Midnight," using the classic sounds of the American songbook to express what they cannot safely live out in public.

But as the social tide begins to turn and the push for change grows louder, remaining hidden becomes harder to justify. Trevor and Arthur must decide whether survival means staying in the shadows or stepping into the light, whatever the cost.

Platt, a Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winner, is widely recognised for his work on stage and screen. He originated the title role in Dear Evan Hansen, earning the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical before reprising the part in the film adaptation alongside Julianne Moore and Amy Adams. He later returned to Broadway in Parade, receiving a second Tony nomination, and most recently marked the reopening of New York's Palace Theatre with his concert residency, Ben Platt: Live at the Palace. With three of the four major entertainment awards already under his belt, he now sits within reach of EGOT status.
