Why see Around the World in 80 Days?

a mad cap journey around the world!

A rip-roaring globe-trotting adventure, don't miss this celebrated production of Around The World in 80 Days from Tilted Wig. Based on Jules Verne's classic tale and directed by Juliet Forster, this inventive production sees a group of circus performers attempt their greatest feat yet, to emulate the travels of the eccentric Phineas Fogg as he travels around the world. But there's a twist as the show teaches us all about Nellie Bly, the real-life journalist who set out to break Phineas' record - and won!

Around The World In 80 Days

When dashing entrepreneur Phileas Fogg is challenged to a high-stakes bet by members of his Victorian gentleman's club, he must rise to the challenge; he must circumnavigate the globe in 80 days or less on a 20,000 bet(roughly 1.6 million today), otherwise he must relinquish his membership and face financial ruin. With his trusty French batman Passepartout, the two set out on a thrilling adventure that takes them to the deepest jungles of India where they meet a beautiful princess, to the eastern metropolis of Hong Kong, across the ocean to San Francisco and more!

The most celebrated of Jules Verne's novels, this story has seen film adaptations including 2004's effort starring Steve Coogan in the lead role as well as an Eighties anime series called "Willy Fogg"with our hero played by an anthropomorphic lion! This new stage adaptation is a brilliantly fast-paced adventure across the world, making it perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
