Why see The Haunting of Hill House?

Stage Adaptation of the Classic Novel

A new theatrical adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House premieres this autumn, reimagining Shirley Jackson's landmark mystery-horror novel for the stage. The adaptation is by multi-award winning playwright Stef Smith (Roadkill, Float), directed by Martin Constantine, and is produced by Wiltshire Creative and Theatr Clwyd. The work of one of the most influential American writers of the past century, The Haunting of Hill House has spawned TV and film adaptations and continues to shape modern horror and psychological fiction today.

What Is The Story

A small group of four are investigating Hill House, a mysterious country mansion long associated with unexplained and supernatural phenomena. As they settle into the building, strange disturbances begin to chip away at their sense of security, as the paranormal happenings they hoped to record become all too close to home.
