In celebration of 250 years since Jane Austen's birth, a new play adaptation of her beloved comedy romance is coming to life at the Rose Theatre this Autumn! Adapted by Ava Pickett and helmed by artistic director Christopher Haydon, this version of Emma sees the witty matchmaker in the modern day. Come and fall in love with this story all over again!

What Is The Story?

Emma Woodhouse is a great many things - witty, charming, intelligent, well-loved by all who meet her. But she prides herself on her particular skill for matchmaking... or, some might say, meddling. While Emma's focus on finding love for others is prolific, she hasn't a care for getting it herself. Or so she thought... but she is starting to see her dear friend Knightley is a very new way. Can she let go of control, and find happiness for herself? Emma is one of Austen's best, a story of sharp wits, friendship, self-discovery, and of course, love.
