Love's Labour's Lost

Love's Labour's Lost at Shakespeares Globe Theatre

Why see Love's Labour's Lost?

Flamenco Shakespeare!

Shakespeare's Globe becomes a house of passionate rhythmic flair in this fantastically unique new production of the bard's Love's Labour's Lost, inspired by the fiery, romantic art of flamenco! In her directorial debut at the Globe, Indiana Lown-Collins (The Solid Life of Sugar Water) traces her Spanish ancestry to bring a blazing overhaul to Shakespeare's early comedy, with movement direction by flamenco dancer and choreographer Carmen Igarza. Guaranteed to be like no Shakespeare production you've ever seen, don't miss out!

What Is The Story?

The notions of masculine pursuit of love and idealism versus cold reality form the key themes of this early comedic work by the bard. The King and his friends swear off women for three years, planning instead to devote themselves to self-betterment. However, no sooner do they make this agreement, than the Princess of France and her entourage arrive - with comical consequences. The King and his entourage sorely tested, with each character trying to secretly woo their respective paramours.
