Lee Ridley Gives A Voice To The Voiceless

Proving that funny knows no boundaries, English comedian Lee Ridley overcame his cerebral palsy and subsequent inability to speak when he first stepped out onto the stage in early 2012. Using a communication aid during his self-deprecating yet joyful stand-up routines, Ridley has had audiences rolling in the aisles during sold out solo tours and festival slots at the Fringe, Glasgow International Comedy Festival and Nottingham Comedy Festival, to name a few, ever since. This year, he triumphed on the latest season Britain's Got Talent, winning the popular reality competition and launching his career into the Simon Cowell-approved stratosphere.

Pulling no punches, Ridley tackles his unique life experience and disability head on, serving up self-lacerating punch lines with unorthodox comic timing thanks to the digital voice app he uses. Balancing stories from his private life with a political message, Ridley eschews sweetness and innocence to shine a spot light on social justice issues with a fiery sense of wit, peppered with robotic expletives. Whilst he may not be able to talk, this inspiring comic has something to say.
