A Brand New Musical
Max Vernon's celebrated off-Broadway hit, The View Upstairs comes to the SOHO Theatre this summer. "A moving homage to LGBT culture past and present" (Entertainment Weekly), The View Upstairs follows fashion designer Wes, whose purchase of a closed down 70s gay bar in New Orleans (what used to be the iconic UpStairs Lounge), hurls him into an exhilarating journey of seductions and self-exploration. Starring Evening Standard's Emerging Talent awardee Tyrone Huntley, The View Upstairs is the perfect treat this summer.
Inspired by the 1973 arson attack on the UpStairs Lounge, which was the largest single attack on the LGBTQ+ community until the 2019 Pulse nightclub shootings in Florida, The View Upstairs is a provocative new musical that celebrates hope, friendship and community. Filled with beautiful ballads and fist-pumping rock hits, The View Upstairs is directed by Jonathan O'Boyle and choreographed by Fabian Aloise.
