The Jonathan Larson Project makes its highly anticipated London debut following a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run, bringing to life a treasure trove of rarely heard songs from the late, groundbreaking composer. Curated by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, this extraordinary production delves deep into Larson's vast archive of unfinished musicals, cut songs, and hidden gems, offering audiences a fresh perspective on the creative genius behind Rent and tick, tick...BOOM!.
With a cast including Max Harwood, Imelda Warren-Green, Michael Mather, and many more, the show celebrates Larson's bold storytelling through infectious melodies, alongside his deep-rooted passion for art, activism, and humanity. Directed by John Simpkins, The Jonathan Larson Project charts the evolution of a composer whose work reshaped modern musical theatre, with this special London production commemorating 30 years since his death.
Featuring more than 20 previously unheard songs, the production showcases material from unproduced works such as Superbia and 1984, as well as forgotten numbers from his most beloved shows. First introduced as a concert in 2018 and later released as an album through Ghostlight Records, this new full-scale staging is a long-awaited tribute to Larson's artistic legacy.
Please note: The producers can't guarantee the appearance of any performers on any specific date.
