Why see The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry?

New Musical Adaptation Of Rachel Joyce's Best-Selling Novel Comes to London

Following a critically acclaimed premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre this Spring, this big-hearted new musical is marching to London in January 2026. Based on the best-selling book by Rachel Joyce, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry features music and lyrics by Passenger and stars Mark Addy and Jenna Russell, who reprise their roles from the Chichester run.

What Is The Story?

Harold Fry has a perfectly comfortable life. He hasn't done anything particularly exceptional - but that is about to change. When he receives news that his old colleague Queenie is terminally ill, he find himself walking from his home in South Devon to reach her all the way in Berwick-Upon-Tweed - a journey of 627 miles. On this epic trek, Harold reflects on the way his life has panned out, the mistakes he made, and the people around him - all while meeting fascinating strangers.
