BU21

Few plays in London can claim such immediacy, such grim topicality.

Why see BU21?
A disturbing play about our reactions to terrorism
A searing examination into the psychological aftermath of a fictional terrorist attack on London, Stuart Slade's sell-out and acclaimed play transfers to Trafalgar Studios in the New Year from Theatre503. Using eyewitness testimony from real attacks including 7/7, 9/11, Paris and the Westgate Shopping Mall shooting, we see how a group of Londoners deal with the terror, brutality in the immediate aftermath, moving through shock , and later inspiration when they pick up the pieces of their lives. A sobering psychological thriller that isn't afraid to use black humour.
Set in a survivor's support group, the six Londoners describe their feelings and recollections from that sunny day in London, when they, and thousands like them saw their lives change drastically. The use of real-life anecdotes from recent terror attacks paint a sobering and terrifyingly real view of how each of us deal with the current climate in which we find ourselves living, and how we hope to change our lives.
