The Royal Shakespeare Company joins forces with London's Kiln Theatre for this thrilling new production, coming to Kilburn's iconic theatre next Summer. Set in the Caribbean in the 1950s against the backdrop of Trinidad's move to independence, Driftwood - the debut play by writer Martina Laird - is directed by Justin Audiberd and is a powerful story of self discovery and belonging.
Things are starting to shift in Trinidad. As it strives to move away from colonial rule, one gentlemen's club in Port of Spain is on the verge of its own reckoning. ALMA is owned by Mansion, an Englishman, but run by Pearl - and the sly Ruby has eyes on it too. ALMA 's delicate situation is about to get blown open by newcomer Diamond, whose decision to make dealings with a rogue US marine could have potentially devastating consequences for the club and its residents.
