Why See Barcelona?
UK Premiere
Emily in Paris star Lily Collins swaps gadding about the City of Love for the trendy Catalonian capital as she makes her West End debut opposite Money Heist's Alvaro Morte in this UK Premiere of Bess Wohl's funny, sexy and surprising thriller. Directed by Lynette Linton, Collins plays an American tourist who embarks on a one-night stand with Morte's gorgeous Spaniard. But as their encounter plays out, the pair discover that lust at first sight may be the only thing they have in common...
=Steadily making her name since her breakthrough in 2009's The Blind Side. Lily Collins has endeared herself to audiences as the hapless American implant Emily Cooper, navigating a new job in Paris in Netflix's Emily in Paris.
Recognisable from his turn in Money Heist and Wheel of Time, Alvaro Mortes also makes his West End debut in Barcelona.
What Is The Story?
While on holiday in Barcelona, American tourist Irene catches the eye of Spaniard Manuel at a party. Egged on by her friends, she accompanies him back to his apartment at the end of the night. However what begins as a carefree fling devolves into something far more complicated as Manuel's anti-Americanism comes to the surface, and the values and identity of The Old World and The New are thrown into passionate opposition.
