Sheridan Smith returns to the stage in Alan Ayckbourn’s Woman in Mind

Kevin, September 18th, 2025

Anyone Who Had A Heart would love Sheridan in this new show!

From Gavin and Stacey to BBC blockbusters and Shirley Valentine - there is nothing that the two-time Tony Award-winning Sheridan Smith can't do, and now she will be appearing in a brand-new production of Alan Ayckbourn's darkly funny psychological comedy Woman in Mind. The show opens at the Duke of York's Theatre on 9 December 2025, running through to 28 February 2026 - perfect timing for a winter theatre trip.

The best news is, London isn't the only place to catch it! After the West End run, the show will head north for limited dates at the Sunderland Empire (47 March 2026) and the Theatre Royal Glasgow (1014 March 2026).

What's The Story?

Directed by Michael Longhurst (Constellations, Caroline, or Change, and former Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse), this revival explores one woman's fractured reality with a mix of warmth and humour.

When Susan bangs her head, her world suddenly divides in two - one ordinary, the other imagined - and the borders between them begin to blur.

About Sheridan Smith

A two-time Olivier Award winner (Legally Blonde, Flare Path), BAFTA and Emmy nominee (Mrs Biggs, Cilla), and a West End favourite with credits ranging from Funny Girl to A Midsummer Night's Dream, she's one of the most exciting and versatile performers working today. Oh, and she's got two albums under her belt as well!
