A new stage adaptation of the acclaimed 2006 German film!
The West End is set to host the world premiere of The Lives of Others, opening at the Adelphi Theatre on 14 October 2026, with an official opening on 29 October and a run continuing until 9 January 2027.
Written and directed by Robert Icke and brings together a major cast led by Keira Knightley, Stephen Dillane, and Luke Thompson. Further casting is still to be announced!
What's The Story?
Set in East Berlin in 1984, the story follows a writer and an actor living under the watchful eye of the Stasi, with a surveillance officer listening in from the attic above their apartment. What begins as a tense political thriller gradually becomes something more intimate, as questions of empathy, morality, and human connection emerge in the most unlikely of circumstances.
The original film, directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, became an international success, winning the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language, and the Csar Award for Best Foreign Film.
