No Man's Land
Theatre chemistry like this is just too good to not rekindle!

Pinter's No Man's Land is both desolate and funny and conveys, without peddling any message, the never-ending contrast between the exuberance of memory and the imminence of extinction.

Harold Pinter’s acclaimed masterpiece No Man’s Land returns to the stage in a major new production at The Donmar Warehouse, directed by Patrick Marber and featuring the talents of Simon Russell Beale as Hirst, Rupert Everett as Spooner, Olivier Huband as Foster and Jay Simpson as Briggs!
Since its premiere in 1975, No Man’s Land has seen numerous hit revivals, including Rupert Goold’s 2008 West End production starring Michael Gambon and the celebrated 2013 revival featuring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. The play touches upon many of the themes that characterise Harold Pinter’s work, combining humour, existence and identity in a way that every line of dialogue provides a new perspective for viewers.
In No Man's Land, we meet two elderly writers, Hirst (successful but a raging alcoholic) and Spooner (a failed writer), who meet on Hampstead Heath and continue to drink and talk late into the night at Hirst's home. All seems well until the arrival of Hirst's menacing henchmen. Cue power struggles and mind games, where relationships are exposed, with menace and hilarity in one of Pinter's darkest and most entertaining plays.
