Fear The Future
British playwright Lucy Kirkwood explores where our responsibility for the future of the planet begins and ends in this intriguing drama. Set in a remote coastal town in England, the story follows two retired nuclear scientists whose quiet lives are disrupted by an unexpected visit from an old friend. As the drama slowly unfolds, it reveals a reality far removed from our own, forcing the characters to confront impossible moral dilemmas.
The Children premiered on Broadway in 2017, where The New York Times hailed it as "an astonishment!". Since then, productions have appeared across the world, and now, for its 10th anniversary, director Rachel O'Riordan brings this acclaimed play to the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre. Oliver Award nominee Meera Syal (A Tupperware of Ashes; Noises Off) stars as Hazel.
