UNCREATIVE, NOT ORIGINAL, NOT FUNNY

I was super excited to see this show as I LOVE drag queens! However, I was utterly disappointed yesterday. First, the story and the characters don't make any sense and the play is disconnected throughout. Triplets? Lady Di? American weather queen? Ninjas? A pop princess? There's no connection between any of the characters. A shit covered bathroom seems to be one of the main storylines of this play :S It was just weird but worse, it wasn't funny at all. I was waiting the entire first half for a punchline, for a reason why the shit covered bathroom had anything to do with anything, but nothing. I don't understand how this made it to the biggest theatre stage in Europe - the West End?! I definitely could write a better storyline than this, and I can actually write a few jokes too.

WORST PLAY I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME

AN HORRENDOUS INSULT TO DRAG

I was willing this to be hilarious, risqué, naughty and exciting! Instead it was cheap and akward. The script / poo and willy jokes could have been better written by primary school boys. It really saddens me to say it but this play is an insult to The beautiful Garrick Theatre and the art of Drag 😔

GREAT ACTORS, BUT VERY MUCH NOT WESTEND WORTHY SHOW

The drag kings and queens actually give really good performances. Not a single bad word about the cast. They are way too good for this show. The script is, unfortunately, really bad. Yes, there are some good references to 80s-90s, as well as the current day. Just some. There are a few, rare, giggle-worthy moments. However, the story is slow and not pushed far enough to be “so bad it’s good”. It’s just bad. We also left at intermission. I saw the Drag Race Review in Vegas, which is a million times better. This show is NOT the UK response to the US production. I am sure you can have a great time at the show, you just gotta be drunk. Real drunk.

OH DEAR ME

Poorly written, unfunny, amateurish performances ( with the exception of the always great Anna Phylactic) and school play level production quality. Painful and embarrassing to watch. Definitely not west end material (Why did you stage this Criterion?) and a discredit to drag. Despite this being an anniversary treat for me from my husband we left at the interval making the highlight of the evening the G and T we drank in the bar and the box of Maltesers we ate on the early bus home. I have never left a show part way through before but I don’t think we were the only ones. The theatre staff were very apologetic as they guided us to our nearest exit and I explained why we were running from the building. I felt bad for my husband as it was a nice gift but he was entirely of the same opinion. Of note he is an actor who has performed in drag himself. There are many ways to experience good drag in its various forms, this sadly is not one of them.

LEFT HALF THROUGH

Worst theatre show I have ever seen. Poorly written, not funny at all. It was so bad, I was cringing. We decided to leave at the interval so we didn't have to endure the second half
