This music-filled, quick-witted production will leave you in awe. Taking place in the historic open-air Globe Theatre, this Edwardian seaside beauty pageant adventure will not only entertain you but educate and inspire you.
What is the story?
Based on the incredible true story of Princess Dinubolu of Senegal, this empowering comedy takes us on the journey of the first woman of colour to ever enter a beauty pageant in the UK. Making her Globe playwriting debut, writer and performer Anne Odeke creates a celebration of this audacious and stereotype-challenging tale and will not only entertain you but also educate and inspire you.
"Anyone can be a Queen, but a real Queen wears the crown, she doesn't let the crown wear her"
