In a promotion from Viscount Bridgerton to the King of England, Jonathan Bailey returns to the stage in 2025 in Nick Hytner's newest production for The Bridge Theatre. Bailey will star as the titular monarch in Richard II, the first of Shakespeare's tetralogy of plays about the wars of succession during the Middle Ages, otherwise known as the 'Henriad'.

Marvel movie star and Academy Award winner Brie Larson is making her West End debut this January in Anne Carson's revival of Sophocles classic Greek tragedy, Elektra, after an initial run in Brighton's Theatre Royal. The second play in The Jamie Lloyd Company's much anticipated Shakespeare season at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, join Tom Hiddleston and Haley Atwell as they play the 'merrily warring' will-they-won't-they couple Benedick and Beatrice in the Bard's witty romantic comedy. Much Ado About Nothing reunites the director and Hiddleston following their collaboration on Harold Pinter's Betrayal in 2019, an experience Tom described as "one of the most fulfilling and meaningful experiences of my performing life." Gareth Southgate's transformation of the England men's national football team in the hearts and minds of the nation is celebrated and explored in Dear England! This gripping play charts the glory, heartache and cultural reset of the Three Lions over the best part of the past decade under Southgate's command.

Two-time Tony Award winner John Lithgow reprises his 2025 Oliver nominated role as Roald Dahl on the West End stage in this vital portrait of the author and his widely publicized antisemitic views, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Described by playwright Mark Rosenblatt as an "uncomfortably funny, urgent and provocative night in the theatre", the drama takes place at the height of Dahl's best-selling career, concerning the fallout from his interview with The New Statesman.

Ewan McGregor plots a much anticipated West End return as he heads to the Wyndham's Theatre in spring 2025 to star in this brand-new play by Lila Raicek. His first time back on the London stage in 17 years, My Master Builder reunites the Star Wars actor with director Michael Grandage. McGregor enthuses: "It's such a thrill be returning to the stage and to work with Michael again, an actor's director with whom I have had some of my happiest working experiences." Expect something big as My Master Builder (inspired by Henrik Ibsen's classic drama The Master Builder) takes to the stage, beginning performances in April.

Imelda Staunton makes a welcome stage return in 2025, alongside her daughter Bessie Carter (Bridgerton) in George Bernard Shaw's Mrs Warren's Profession. Once banned for three decades under Lord Chamberlin, Shaw intended the play to address prostitution in the era, and to: "draw attention to the truth that prostitution is caused, not by female depravity and male licentiousness, but simply by underpaying, undervaluing and overworking women", as played out when Vivie Warren (Carter) returns home from university to discover her mother Kitty's (Staunton) true profession as a brothel madam.

The Royal Shakespeare Company and Joe Hishaishi's multi-Olivier Award-winning My Neighbour Totoro is returning to the West End stage in March 2025! Combining the Ghibli joy, Hishaishi's glorious score, puppetry and more than a little bit of magic, this spectacular show is adapted from Hayao Miyazaki's film by playwright Tom Morton-Smith, with puppets from Basil Twist and direction from triple Oliver award winner Phelim McDermott.
