Louise Redknapp Delays Start Date For 9 to 5 Due To Injury

The production begins performances on January 28.

Pop star come stage star Louise Redknapp has announced that she has had to step down from her role in upcoming West End run of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 for a short time, due to suffering an injury on her way to rehearsals.

The star, who was set to perform as Violet Newstead, took to Twitter to announce the news, mentioning that she is suffering from a broken wrist and has received ten stitches to a nasty cut to her chin. Following doctor's orders Redknapp is resting up, but with the hope of returning to 9 to 5 soon!

The musical begins performances at the Savoy Theatre on January 28 with Natalie McQueen (Kinky Boots) starring as Doralee Rhodes and Love Island winner Amber Davies starring as Judy Bernly. Brian Conley also stars in the production as Franklin Hart Jr. with Bonnie Langford stepping into the role of Roz Keith.

What is 9 to 5 about?

The tremendous tale of three women, glamorous Doralee Rhodes, newbie Judy Bernly and frustrated Violet Newstead, who work together in a man's world ruled by the insidious Franklin Hart Jr. Fed up of being overlooked and bullied and hit on by this sexist, chauvinistic, egotistical nightmare of a boss, these three very different characters get together to hatch an empowering plan to get revenge, with fiendishly hilarious consequences, forming a strong bond, despite their differences.
