First Look: Paddington Arrives in London!
A Bear-y Big Day Out at the Savoy
With a book by Olivier Award-winner Jessica Swale and songs by McFly's Tom Fletcher, Paddington The Musical has officially pulled into the station at London's Savoy Theatre - and the identity behind everyone's favourite duffle-coated bear has finally been revealed! After months of whispers, we now have a first look at the puppet, and it couldn't be any cuter.
Paddington is brought to life by two performers: James Hameed, who puppeteers the bear from behind the scenes, and Arti Shah, who performs alongside him on stage.
What's The Story?
When a small, polite bear from Darkest Peru arrives at a London railway station with nothing but a label around his neck and a hopeful heart, he's taken in by the Brown family. Together, they discover that family comes in all shapes (and species) - but not everything in London is as kind as it seems. As a vengeful villain closes in, the Browns must band together to save their new friend - and, in doing so, realise they might need Paddington just as much as he needs them.
