OUTSTANDING

A wonderful experience on a dull Monday evening. The cast was amazing and the audience was as warm and engaged as I had ever seen! Rowan Atkinson was on excellent form and Jodie's resounding voice filled the theatre (perhaps Nancy's vulnerability did not always show in the right places?). The whole cast of children was absolutely outstanding, with Oliver and the Artful Dodger masters of the show. I cannot recommend it strongly enough!

AN ENJOYABLE EVENING

We saw Oliver on 30 December. Rowan Atkinson is a fantastic Fagin - very polished and very funny - a star. Robert Madge as Dodger oozes charisma - he rather steals the show and gives a fantastic performanc. Laurence was Oliver for us - his voice is very sweet in the ballads. Burn is a fearsome Bill and the dog is gorgeous though not in the least threatening. So what of Jodie - well good on her for winning the contest but her big numbers tended to be overshadowed by shouting the lyrics - a bit disappointing if I am honest though perhaps it is lack of experience .... undoubtedly she has got bums on seats. The set is amazing and there are great production numbers. A very enjoyable evening.

FANTASTIC

watched it last night. the only niggle is why does there need to be a sexual inuendo or two in this otherwise beautiful, funny, brilliant show? Atkinson played a very jewish, typically "bean" fagin in a humerous way. I prefered moody at the paladium but atkinson does the part very well. last nights dodger and oliver were fantastic. the little lad however that stole the show? well you'll see! music is brilliant, the conductor is as much fun to watch as the show! recommended, enjoy it

GREAT SHOW, BUT !!!

I have just been to see Oliver ,what a great show and performance from all involved . The only disappointment for me was the outragoeuos prices for a small bottle of water £2.20 and the smallest tub of ice cream i have ever seen £3.20.Why charge so much? if it was not such a rip off then i would have bought three drinks and ice creams,so is it cost effective to charge so much?

OLIVER DRURY LANE THEATRE ROYAL LONDON

Fantastic show the best we have seen for a long time, the sets were amazing the cast was superb and the orchestra perfect ! but what a shame about the sound. We went to see the show on Friday July17 at7.30 and were sittng in the grand circle seats K21 22 23 we all found it difficult to hear quite a lot of the dialogue throughout the show, and Jodies mike was distorted. Does the sound engineer only set the levels for the stalls?

FANTASTIC SHOW, SHAME ABOUT THE THEATRE

Positives first, fantastic show, brilliant cast and Jodie is a totally awesone nancy! The kids are fantastic actors and Fagin is hilarious. Now the negatives, the theatre is way to hot and the seats in the upper circle are so cramped i now have permanent dents in my knees! The ice cream and drinks are extortionate prices shame on you for ripping us off!. And if you get Mr Grumps in the box office good luck what a misery. I would certainly be put off going back to this theatre unless i really wanted to see what was on. There are far better ones in the area. Having said that my daughter had a lovely birthday treat and was enthralled with the show so i guess thats all that matters. So Mr Grumps in the box office at least you didnt spoil her day!

MATINEE 13TH DEC 2010 UNECCESSARY CRUDITY

Dear All we travelled from Birmingham yesterday to see Oliver my partners favourite show. Thought the cast was fab.. sets..fab costumes fab.. and it goes without saying the songs are wonderful. But we were concerned when Mr Bumble was having a fondle ,but shocked when a couple were simulating sex in various positions in the tavern,we know how depraved it was meant to be without such graphic displays, especially with so many children present. One other little thing why did Fagin have to lapse into Panto by mentioning the bankers ? What was that about? Finally the choreography was also fab. Thankyou all for a magical afternoon.
