KIDS SHINE OVER ADULT CAST
Went to the performance of Oliver on the evening of the 8th October, hoping it would be as entertaining as the previous times we have seen the musical, instead we were very dissapointed in the performances of 'Fagin' and 'Bill Sykes', played by Omid Djalili and Stephen Hartley. Fagin was played like a pantomine performance bringing his own humour into the character which quite frankly didn't work. Fagin I believe is a character who should hold your attention, but instead it felt like being at a comedy venue. Stephen Hartley who played 'Bill Sykes' had the same voice pitch all the way through the performance, with no mean streak coming through he did'nt sound at all 'thug like' As a regular theatre visitor over the years this is the first time I have ever felt the urge to voive my opinion, and it is only my opinion. One thing was 'spot on', the children as always were brilliant, and as I said in my title, they were the stars of the show. We did think the set was terrific

LEFT AT THE INTERVAL
good performance kids were brilliant shame about the theatre.out of date, seats were unconfortable and cramped WORSE than flying with a budget airline. My wife and I left at the interval so did one or two others having fainted during the first half of the show and were carried out because of the heat, and that was in October. BE WARNED!

POOR VALUE
for the price I paid for the tickets I was expecting a spectacular performance but on the evening of 17/11/2010 I was very disappointed. The children were wondeful and I enjoyed the dancing and singing but apart from Russ Abott as Fagin the rest of the cast were very mediocre. Not what you expect from a West End show.

V UPSET ABOUT CANCELLED SHOW
Having spent a tidy sum on ebay buying tickets for the opening night, we were very upset to get the show only to be told it was cancelled. A ticket to another performance isn't good enough, we have spent time going to London and getting baby sitters. It was the buzz of opening night we had paid for. At least we got to see the Sound of Music, we had already seen this show but it was better than nothing at all. I totally want the performing children to be prepared and ready. It is just upsetting that they didn't factor in a lot of contingency time.

FAGIN - MASTER OF COMEDY!
Saw the show, some good performances and a great spectacle but think the story cheapened by Fagin being cast as a lovable, comic rascal. Read the book!
